Lag Time in Diffusion-Controlled Release Formulations Containing a Drug-Free Outer Layer

نویسندگان

چکیده

Theoretical considerations along with extensive Monte Carlo simulations are used to calculate the lag time before initiation of diffusion-controlled drug release in multilayer planar devices an outer layer containing no drug. The presented results also relevant formulations coated by a drug-free membrane as well other reservoir systems. diffusion molecules through towards medium is considered, giving rise observed time. We have determined dependence on thickness and coefficient layer, initial concentration surface area device. A simple expression, obtained analytical solution equation, provides approximate estimate for that describes numerical reasonably well; according this relation, proportional squared over corresponding inversely logarithm linear number density initially loaded inner layer.

Controlled Release Gel Formulations

Simple gel formulations may be applied to enhance the systemic and local exposure of potential compounds. The aim of this thesis is the development and characterization of controlled release formulations based on thermoreversible poloxamer gels, which are suitable for novel drug delivery applications. In particular co-solvents (DMSO, ethanol), mucoadhesive polymers (chitosan, alginate) and salt...

pH Sensitive Hydrogel Based Acrylic Acid for Controlled Drug Release

Hydrogels, due to their unique potentials such as high-water content and hydrophilicity are interest for the controlled release of drug molecules. The present study aims to create a controlled-release system through the preparation and characterization of hydrogels based on pH-sensitive polymers such as poly (acrylic acid). Poly (acrylic acid), p(AA), hydrogel has been synthesized by radical po...

Evaluation of controlled-release mosquito repellent formulations.

Eight polymer and 9 microcapsule formulations of deet were tested on laboratory rabbits against Aedes aegypti and Anopheles albimanus. Several formulations were significantly more effective than simple (unformulated) deet at the same strength for periods up to 24 h. Best results were obtained with a polymer formulation containing a high molecular weight fatty acid and 3 microcapsule formulation...

Development of controlled release formulations of thiabendazole

This study aimed to develop controlled release formulation of Thiabendazole for reduced contaminations to soil water and agricultural produces. The idea behind this work was based on changing the ionization status of Thiabendazole molecule throughout pH changes to become a cation then adsorbing it to bentonite clay surfaces. Equilibrium concentrations of Thiabendazole in the adsorption solution...
